What is the best way to clean my tarnished platinum platinum-rimmed china?
The dishes are not safe in the dishwasher, etc. Always hand wash the dishes and put in protective sleeve. I realized last week that some of these plates are fuzzy around the edge, which is platinum. I tried washing them again, but no luck! Any help is greatly appreciated!
Platinum is so thin in China – we could see which is worn and does not shine. If your plate is valuable to take a piece to a jeweler renowned jewelers and seeking advice. Or specialized assistance. Everything you purchase in the store to clean the deck will be too abrasive for the thin layer. If someone tells you to try vinegar or juice Lemon – remember the weak acids and further deteriorate the finish. Do not use toothpaste or baking soda – they are abrasive.
